　　Task2：Some people think that a large amount of money and time is spent on the protection of wild animals and that this money could be better spent on human population. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

　　It is argued that if the financial and time resources invested in protecting wild animals were used for human benefits, there would be better outcomes. I do not think such an argument can be justified.

　　There is no doubt that the amount of money and time paid for preserving rare species has been significant and increasing. For example, at a cost of billions of dollars, the XXXXX government, since the 1970s, has established national reserves for giant pandas. After years of protection, the once-endangered animal has now been removed from the list. Also, a large number of non-governmental organizations have been making great effort to maintain a sustainable environment for wild animals against environmental pollution and illegal hunting.

　　There are two reasons why I do not think that the resources for animal protection should be used for the benefits of human beings. Firstly, without spending money saving wildlife from becoming extinct, we would not be able to live on the Earth for too long because humans rely heavily on other animal species for various purposes, like the control of insects. Secondly, the protection of natural habitats of wild animals plays a crucial role in ensuring human survival. For example, rainforests produce oxygen, absorb carbon dioxide, and stabilise the Earth's climate. If we budgeted the money towards other fields, the costs of managing the resulting changes to our planet would far outweigh the costs of conservation.
