　　Task2：The qualities a person needs to become truly successful in today's world cannot be learned from universities or any similar academic institutions. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

　　It requires various good qualities for a person to achieve success in both life and work. Personally, I believe that some of these qualities can be acquired through receiving tertiary education, but other traits of a successful person cannot be taught in a university.

　　On the one hand, university education contributes to equipping graduates with certain essential abilities to be successful after graduation. To begin with, attending university courses allows students to think critically, as they are exposed to a wide range of knowledge and wisdom teaching them to look at things from different perspectives. Such a quality is popularly demanded if one aims to take a management position in a company or the government. In addition, being a university student means one has to be diligent enough to pass all exams and finally obtain a degree. Such devotion to study cultivates industriousness which is more likely to lead to success.

　　On the other hand, some good qualities needed for success are not available in a purely academic environment. One obvious example is the interpersonal skill which is not factored into most university curriculums. For the students who enjoy studying and doing research alone, it is difficult to develop a good ability to communicate with friends or colleagues. What is more, it is quite common that university students lack the leadership quality, because there are few opportunities in universities for them to get involved in activities requiring them to be a leader.
