An increasing number of people are changing careers during working life. What do you think are the reasons? Do you think it is a positive or negative development for society?(工作类)
In many professions these days job security is not as great as it used to be in the past. If employees work without satisfaction, they may change jobs several times during their careers. In my opinion, there are various reasons contributing to this phenomenon and generally speaking this trend is largely detrimental to society.
One of crucial factors is that there are an increasing number of people not preferring a quiet life nowadays. When someone does not feel the sense of fulfillment, they will naturally welcome another job that offers the opportunity to do something different. For example, in China, many young adults who get a job in their hometown or city government may consider their career life to be simple, routine and even monotonous after a few years. Therefore they quit and move to metropolis for new challenges and occupations there.
Another reason why there are so many job hoppers is that the Internet era has resulted in the booming of job choices both in the traditional and innovative industry. As a result, those who enjoy change and excitement may be bestowed with the opportunities to reconsider their job prospect. In order to win the triumph over others and lead the trend of e-economy, many people change their jobs periodically.
When job hoppers are craving for new chances, some bad issues are particularly worthy of concern. As more workers switch their jobs, more employers tend to suspect their loyalty and resilience. It is inevitable to cause the deterioration of trust among social members. Moreover, staying within a specific job for a relatively short period can hardly enable them to gain experiences and on-the-job skills. Consequently, the society involved will see a large number of low-end workforce who may not contribute the insightful and professional suggestions to the development of the social fields.
To sum up, the reasons leading to the phenomenon of job hopping may vary a lot. But generally speaking, it is more like a curse than a blessing to the whole society.
