More and more people want to buy famous brands of clothes, cars and other items. What are the reasons? Do you think it is a positive or negative development? (社会发展类)
起个头:
It seems that in recent years, more and more people, especially in urban areas are fascinated about famous brands. In my opinion, there are various reasons contributing to this. Personally, I think that this is largely detrimental to people and society.
Reasons…100
The cause of this obsession surely is connected to movies and pop culture. In today's society, we are constantly seeing images of attractive stars in the entertaining biz endorse certain brands. As a result, in order to show their supports to their idols and feel 'closer' to the person they admire, consumers, especially the young, will rarely think twice before deciding to purchase the same items. Moreover, it is acknowledged that a lot of big brands are always sold with an astonishingly high price. When individuals can afford a limo or a luxurious bag, such as Chanel, they will feel superior to others and be regarded as the successful.
Admittedly, owing the items of brands can improve the living standards of people to some extent. The inclination for brands is unfavorable from some aspects. Firstly, fashion changes very quickly. If a person really kept completely up-to-date with big brands, their income would be wiped out soon. In the long run, there will be some negative influences on their living. Secondly, if the trend of following the brands continues, many kinds of traditional products, such as handicrafts, textile clothes will inevitably show a decline in the sales. Thus those who live on these jobs may go unemployed, which endangers the social economy and stability.
As analysed above, people may have various reasons for pursuing the brands, but the negative outcomes should never be ignored.
