　　Nowadays a large amount of advertising is aimed at children .Some people think this can have negative effects on them and should be banned.To what extent do you agree or disagree?

　　Many companies target children as their major potential consumers, which has led to a large number of advertisements aimed at young children. Although it is true that many of these advertisements place children under tremendous pressure, I do not think that a ban on them can be justified.

　　Studies have shown that children have been adversely affected by frequent exposure to various advertisements promoting popular children's products. Firstly, a decline in the level of health of children may occur as they can hardly resist the temptation of advertisements for snacks and drinks containing too many calories, such as Snickers chocolate candy bars and Coca Cola soda drinks. The other problem caused by advertising to children is that they may suffer from a sense of inferiority if not allowed to buy the highly advertised electronic devices or bicycles owned by other children. This may negatively affect their self-esteem and lead to a lack of confidence.

　　Despite the drawbacks mentioned above, I do not think there is enough justification for completely banning advertising to children. My first reason is that many of advertisements targeting children provide parents with useful information about the latest products that may be helpful for their children in terms of health, brain development, and education. Without being marketed, it would be difficult for these products to be known by parents who really need them. In addition, many children's products are advertised in an educational way by telling a good story or introducing relevant knowledge, which draws children's attention to something more meaningful rather than the product itself.

　　In conclusion, although marketing to children does have adverse impacts on them, I disagree that these advertisements should be removed from screens and magazines. Instead, parents should take more responsibility by restricting the amount of time their children can watch TV and teaching them that they cannot always have everything they want.
