　　Task2: In modern world, it is possible to shop, work and communicate with each other via the internet without any face to face contact. To what extent do you think it is a positive or negative development?

　　The rapid development of communication technology has been able to allow internet users to perform a wide variety of daily tasks in a virtual way, ranging from communicating with almost everyone to doing everyday shopping. It seems to me that this development is largely beneficial to people’s life and work.

　　The transition of means of communication from the real life to the web revolutionises our ability to keep in contact with others. More specifically, it has enabled people to keep in touch with friends and to make contact with similar minded people throughout the world. This means that one can establish networks of, for example, people suffering from the same disease, or of people with shared interests, like obscure periods of history.

　　Shopping via the internet brings people the benefit in terms of convenience. In other words, online shoppers can choose any time of the day to get on Amazon or EBay. This is especially useful for mothers with small children and people working on a tight schedule, or simply in times of inclement weather. The increasing availability of online stores allows people the freedom to shop at their own pace and convenience.

　　Finally, working through the internet saves time for employees. Instead of spending hours getting to and from work, it just takes a few steps for people to get to their working table. With the saved time, they could do a better job or have a better rest. In addition, web-based working mode allows people more freedom and comfort. For example, there is no need for them to wear suits or dress and high heels, which are not a comfortable choice for the majority of people.

　　In conclusion, despite some potential harms, I strongly believe that the increasing popularity of communicating via the internet produces more desirable outcomes.
