In recent years, the pressure of students in university is increasing. They are pushed to work hard at young age. Do you think it is a positive or negative development? ???
1.It is likely for these young adults to face excessive pressure which is mostly imposed by their parents and teachers. Thus, they have to allot most of their time to study and research, wishing for the desired academic record and the distinction in the final dissertation. Once failing in even a tiny quiz, they will be haunted by frustration and depression. There may be potential psychological disorder, such as insomnia and anxiety, falling on them in the end.
2.As well as the overwhelming stress, if they are compelled to work hard in order to be the 'number one', they will be deprived of the chance to enjoy the campus life. For example, many undergraduates in China refuse to attend any school activities or try to put themselves into the romantic relationships, both of which are considered to be useless and time-consuming. What attracts them only is the books in libraries and equipment in laboratories. As a result, the monotonous university life shapes them into a boring 'nerd' rather than an all-round man.
