fund：
做名词：
表示“基金”（an amount of money that has been saved or has been made）可数名词
pension fund 退休基金
表示“资金；现款”强调有现款可以去花（money that is available to be spent）（通常复数形式funds）
raise funds
a lack of funds
做动词
fund sth. 资助… （通常是官方的）（to provide money for sth, usually sth official）
The museums is privately funded.
funding
只能做名词，且不可数
表示“资金，提供资金”，强调钱用于特殊目的（money for a particular purpose; the act of providing money for such a purpose）
cut funding for national museums and galleries 削减国家博物馆和美术馆的经费
