1.I'd like to talk about hybrid rice,which definitely is the most important plant in China.It's invented by Yuan Long Ping,a brilliant scientist,who dedicated his life to the agricultural development.His invention changed the world.
2. A bunch of it looks very humble.There's nothing much worth describing.But if you travel to the countryside,you'll see fields after fields of it. Bathed in the warm sunshine,it's like a fine work from Monet.It's so impressive.I'm sure you won't forget such a view.
3. Today,it's massively planted in the farmlands and green houses all over the country.Since china has the largest population in the world,the production and storage of it is essential.After it's harvested,it’s transported to different cities,then sold in supermarkets.
4. It's important, because it saved millions of lives.Back to 1960s and 70s,millions of Chinese people died of starvation.The whole country was in despair.People were forced to eat grass roots,and tree skin.It's this plant that saved their lives.
