Firstly, although online shopping appears to offer greater convenience（提供很大的便利）, it is often rather（rather 表示“相当”，是副词，后面往往接负面的不好的形容词） risky and cumbersome（繁琐的，缓慢复杂的) in practice. Consumers（=shopper/buyers）cannot evaluate the quality of online products by handling(用手触摸) them directly. Instead, （注意这个连词在语境中的正确使用）they must rely on （=depend on依赖）sellers to describe goods accurately in words and pictures. Mistakes can easily be made, leading to the inconvenience of having to exchange goods （换货）or seek a refund(退款). Products bought online also normally need to be delivered by post(邮递). The convenience of online shopping thus hinges in part on (hinge on 取决于) the efficiency of the postal service(邮政的效率).
