1.OK, so we’ve been looking at~the attitudes of various social and cultural groups towardsthe management of their personal finances - know how important the feel it is to save money, and what they save their money for.

▼attitudes of sth. to/towards sth. XXX对XX的态度。

不同的社会文化团体对个人财政管理的态度。前半句里面完成进行时表示一直在做某事儿，后半句里面用了个it做形式主语，真正主语是to save money。我觉得这个句子很好，把缩写去掉都可以用到写作里面了。

2.Now though these days people might question a lot of the assumptions contained in those statements, recent research does suggest that there are some quite fundamental differences between men and women in their attitudes to economic maters.

▼question本来是个名词，在这里用作动词，取怀疑，质疑的意思。而suggest也非常规表建议的意思，这这里取的是表明表示之意（does在这里还强调了一把）。大家在精听的过程中会慢慢发现两个现象，一个是雅思听力特别喜欢把名词当动词的去用，两外就是剑桥喜欢用小词儿，因为小词儿很灵活，British Council喜欢用一些有很多意思的小词儿去进行地道的表达，具体的小词儿可以参见《听力考点词真经》的第二章72变词。

3.Research studies of women in North America have found that women are far more likely tosave for their children’s education and they are also more likely to save up in order to buy a house one day.

▼be more likely to do sth.更愿意做某事儿，听力里面常见的替换是tend to

而且save money 和save up 一样的意思，但在使用过程中避免了重复。

口语中我想表达，比起睡懒觉，我更愿意早起学习。I’m far more likely to be as busy as bee rather than to be a lazybones. （lazybones是懒骨头，就是懒蛋，大懒蛋！）

4.But the other main priority for men when saving money is their retirement.

▼the other main priority另外一大部分，多好的表达。口语中比如说，你们每天的生活除了睡觉，其余绝大部分时间都是学习：For most of us, we usually take 6 to 8 hours for sleeping and the other main priority for studying.

5.When they’re earning, they’re far more likely to put money aside for their old agethan women are.

▼put aside把XX放在一边，或者说是储存XX备用。比如说我要打工存钱去给爹娘买新手机。When I have spare time, especially in summer vacation, I usually do some part-time jobs like tutor or dishwasher, cause I want to buy a brand new iphone 6puls for my parents, and I know I have to put money aside. （brand new是崭新的）

6.To start with, it is fact that throughout the world, women are likely to live many years longer than men....

▼throughout the world其实就是全世界，纵观全世界，女人比男人长寿。哈哈。

7.Furthermore the high divorce rates in North America are creating a poverty cycle for women.

▼divorce rate离婚率，XX rate表示什么什么率，写作里面有时候会用到 birth rate=natality; death rate=morality。而离婚妇女叫divorced women。

8.The population in North America is likly to contain an increasing number of elderly women.

▼在国外，形容一个人，尤其是女人，绝对不要用old，不得体啊，你们试试如果你敢说我老，看我不分分钟砍死你！用elderly 多好，年长的。另外the + adj. 这种形式可以表示一类人，比如the old, the young, the rich, the poor。

9.Women today need to look ahead, think ahead - not wait until they’re under pressure. Even women in their early twenties need to think about pensions.

▼其实我想说这段话都说的好，作为二十一世纪的女孩儿，真的要look ahead, think ahead,思想要超前，未雨绸缪。造不造？

而且，在表述在某人多少多少岁的时候，用in one’s twenties/thirties /fourties，20岁的早期，就加个early来修饰咯。
