雅思写作第一大忌
过分地改写作文题目，导致整个开头段都特别累赘
题目：
Some people think modern games can help children to develop a wide range of skills, but others argue that traditional games can be much better for developing such skills. What is your opinion.
例： many people hold the opinion that up-to-date games are beneficial to children’s intellectual and hands-on ability, while there are still some people think latest games failed to help children to develop a wide range of skills.
改写题目的时候，可以把多余冗杂的观点复述去掉。所以while后半句完全可以去掉。
雅思写作第二大忌
胡乱翻译俗语和成语
题目：
is is good to have a large family?
例：As a Chinese saying goes many sons, many lucks…” Therefore, it is good for people to have a large family.
不仅是开头段，包括整个写作过程都要尽量避免使用那些没有把握的俗语翻译，特别涉及文化的歇后语，俗语的翻译。由于英语基础薄弱，很多同学的翻译都已经改变了俗语的原意，让考官摸不着头脑。
那究竟最保险，最容易得分的大作文开头段应该是什么形式呢？
一个合格的开头段首先应当保证有三个要素
背景句（restatement of issue）
题目改写（rephrase the topic）
个人观点（personal opinion）
雅思写作第三大忌
坚决不能简单地照抄原题，或者只修改少数几个单词
因为考官曾在后面作文范例里说过，他们会将抄的题目删除，不算做字数。
题目：
Nowadays it is more convenient and easier for people to travel to other countries. Is the development a positive effect or negative effect?
例：Now it is more convenient and easier for people to other places.
这种第一段改写方式完全不行。
雅思写作第四大忌
作者在开头段观点模糊，没有具体提出观点，不知所云
题目：
Should college students be allowed to get married?
例：Actually， I think this topic is very difficult to discuss. In real world, marriage could possibly bring some advantages to students, but I am not a college students, I am only 17…..
开头段一定要简洁有力，而且要提出观点
雅思写作第五大忌
没有任何背景引导，直接阐述观点
题目：
Schools should teach children academic subjects which will be useful in their future careers. Subjects such as music and sports are not useful. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
例： I disagree the opinion that subjects such as music and sports are not important to children’s future development.
背景句在整个大作文中还是比较重要的，它可以让考官在最短的时间内了解文章讨论的主旨内容是什么，忽略掉背景句，直接提出观点的方法不可取。
