　　Multicultural societies, which are a mixture of different ethnic groups, bring more benefits than drawbacks for a country. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this conclusion?

　　In an era /ˈɪərə/of globalization, our societies have become increasingly multicultural.  As international cities have become melting pots for immigrants from all over the world seeking a better life, more and more people are concerned about its pros and cons. Personally, i think it brings us more good than harm.

　　First of all, people from different countries bring beautiful traditions with them.  Think of all the wonderful international food, drinks, music and customs. They make our cities vibrant and attractive places to live in and visit for tourists. Just look at all the China towns across the world, you will see all the proof you need.

　　Moreover, first generation immigrants often leave their home countries because of wars and other bad circumstances. So when they make a new start, they tend to be appreciative and work hard to create a good home for their offspring. They are usually model citizens.

　　On the flip side, It has some problems. Not all immigrants can speak the local language well and such people often tend to stick with friends of their own ethnicity  [ɛθ'nɪsəti]. That causes problems for assimilating. And sometimes, different religious and ethnic traditions have trouble coexisting peacefully. This brings in its wake conflicts and hostility.
