雅思写作中culture作为单复数的区分：

culture 作为不可数名词

意思是指the customs, beliefs, way of life, art, music, literature or social organisation of a particular country or group of people.

表示“（国家或群体的风俗，信仰，艺术，文学，生活方式及社会组织的）文化，文明”

强调和艺术，信仰相关的文化 （建筑，艺术，生活方式太多，数不清，所以是不可数名词）

eg. 

Many students choose to study European culture. (包括从信仰到生活方式的所有文明)

This city is full of culture and history. (比如建筑，艺术，语言，传统食物等)

culture 作为可数名词（a culture/different cultures）

意思是：“a country, group, etc. with its own beliefs,etc” 

表示（国家或者群体所拥有的）文化

简单的说 a culture 就类似于一个社会或者团体 （数的清 所以是可数名词）

eg. 

Children are taught to respect different cultures. (=不同群体的文化 different groups)

Traditional cultures are disappearing. (传统的社会（societies）或者团体(communities)
